Asteris ("we", "our", "the app") is operated by Softcid LLC, Wyoming, USA. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.
1. Data We Collect
- Account data: Email address (for authentication).
- Birth data: Date, time, and location of birth (required for natal chart calculations).
- Partner data: If you use synastry features, you may enter another person's birth data. You confirm you have their permission to do so.
- Usage data: App interactions, screens viewed, features used (anonymized).
- Device data: Platform, OS version, app version, device model (for crash reporting and compatibility).
- Purchase data: Subscription status, transaction IDs (processed by Apple/Google, not stored by us in raw form).
2. How We Use Your Data
- Natal chart calculations: Birth data is used solely to calculate astrological charts and generate personalized readings.
- AI-powered readings: Your chart data (planetary positions, not raw birth details) is sent to Google Gemini Flash to generate personalized interpretations. No personally identifiable information is included in AI prompts.
- Analytics: Anonymized usage data helps us improve the app experience. Analytics are only enabled if you consent via the GDPR prompt on first launch.
- Crash reporting: Error data is sent to Sentry (with anonymized user IDs) to fix bugs. Only enabled with your consent.
- Advertising: If and when the app shows ads, personalization follows your iOS App Tracking Transparency choice.
3. Third-Party Services
- Supabase (auth, database) — stores your account and chart data. Hosted in EU/US. supabase.com/privacy
- Google Gemini (AI readings) — receives chart positions (not personal info) to generate readings. ai.google.dev/terms
- Sentry (crash reporting) — receives anonymized error data. sentry.io/privacy
- Apple / Google (payments) — handle all subscription billing. We never see your payment card details.
4. Data Storage and Security
Sensitive personal data (birth details, email) is stored encrypted on your device using your platform's secure keychain (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). Server-side data is protected by row-level security policies — you can only access your own data.
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (Profile → Delete Account), all your data is permanently removed from our servers, including:
- Profile and birth data
- Chart readings and AI cache
- Partner/synastry data
- Subscription records
- Usage analytics (anonymized)
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
You have the right to:
- Access your data — your birth data and chart are visible in Profile.
- Delete your data — use "Delete Account" in Profile, or email us.
- Export your data — use the Share feature to export your chart data.
- Withdraw consent — you can change analytics/crash reporting preferences at any time.
- Rectify your data — edit your birth data in Profile → Edit Birth Data.
7. Children's Privacy
Asteris is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we discover such data has been collected, we will delete it promptly.
8. Cookies and Tracking
Asteris is a mobile app and does not use cookies. We do not track users across other apps or websites. The iOS App Tracking Transparency prompt is shown before any ad personalization.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
